It's Charlie- Look at me now!

Say hello to Charlie. Many of you already know his story but in case you don't......

Charlie came to us several months ago with a very severe skin infection, no hair and terribly emaciated. He was one of the worst cases of neglect we had seen. In fact, at one point his infection got so bad it went to his blood stream. We almost lost him.

Luckily for Charlie, he is a real fighter and he fought hard. Very few have met Charlie since he has mostly been in foster care but that hasn't stopped his legion of fans.

Look at him now! WOW!

He is getting closer to being ready for adoption. Please stay tuned for our website updates and for when he is available for adoption.

  1. Charlie is a precious, gentle soul. I met him on a trip to APR bringing Christmas presents to the shelter pets. Charlie was excited about his new toy however he quickly dismissed the toy & sat staring at me in hopes of some human attention ... which he of course got! Anyone who takes this little boy home is very lucky!

  2. This blog has me in tears...but in a good way! I've been following Charlie's story from the get-go, which was right around the time we adopted our beloved Franklin from APRA. It's so amazing what the right combination of love, support, and medical care has done. My hats off to all those involved one way or another in helping this handsome fella make it through a very tough time of it.

  12. Kudos to everyone at APRA and Charlie's fosters! I've been following the story of his recovery. Now when I check in on him I smile instead of cry. I hope you find him a forever home where he gets all the love, care and pampering he deserves. Hugs & kisses to Charlie!

  13. I've thought about Charlie constantly since your first post brought tears to my eyes. I have a little Cavalier at home and they are such a wonderful breed. How anyone could abuse that little treasure is a mystery to me. They were made for love and that is all they are.
